Proud and Immortal, Bright shines your name!!!

So, it has been a tough few days in Cowboy Nation. My heart breaks for the families of those lost and the University as a whole. After such a great loss I was excited that we would have such an easy win. A little pick me up for a hurting group. Well, that was not in the cards for Oklahoma State! And while watching our undefeated season and our chance of competing for the National Champion slip away was horrid, nothing puts things into perspective like the loss of life. One of my sorority sisters posted this AMAZING article on FB. I want to share it. I cried as I read it. Oklahoma State and its people are a special breed. Its like explaining to someone who wasn't in a Sorority the bond you have with your sisters. I think it is best explained with a quote I've heard a few times, "From the outside looking in you can never understand it. From the inside looking out you can never explain it."

I'll leave you with the quote that one of my pledge sisters' had as her status...

Orange is that day that you moved into the dorms with a bunch of people you'd never met. It’s meeting those friends that would stick with you for life. It's "don't look at the arc", house decks and walk-arounds. It’s wearing orange the Friday before the first game & every Friday after that. It’s KURT BUDKE, MIRANDA SERNA, Barry Sanders, John Smith, Garth Brooks, Mike Gundy, Eddie Sutton...it’s you and me. Orange is putting your arm around the shoulder of the stranger next to you to sing the Alma Mater. It’s making the switch to saying “Power” instead of “Orange.” It’s remembering Lewis Field & admiring Boone Pickens Stadium. It’s knowing that it’s left hand up to make an “S.” Orange is when it’s good for a Cowboy First Down and Ten. Orange is Pistols Firing – Touchdown Oklahoma State. It’s “...O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A Oklahoma STATE” no matter where you are when the state song is played. It’s the big smile on your face when you walk past the orange fountain. It’s going back to the place you worked in college & remembering it as the best job you ever had even though it paid the least. It’s a cabinet full of Joe’s cups. Orange is knowing that it’s time to go home when you hear “New York, New York” or “Shoulda Been a Cowboy.” Orange is the one you tried to let down easy & the one you’ll never forget. Orange is wanting to get out of Stillwater for four years & spending the rest of your life wanting to go back.

Proud and Immortal, Bright shines your name. Oklahoma State, We herald your fame. Ever you’ll find us, Loyal and
true. To our Alma Mater O – S – U!!!

MIYO-Monday

So, last week I came upon a cute little blog that does a weekly Pinterest outfit post! Last week they announced a link up this week! I thought it would be a fun challenge! I feel like I always look like a teacher... yes, I know I am a teacher but I don't want people thinking I wear holiday themed sweaters or something! Anywho I tried it out and I really enjoyed it! Here is the outfit we were supposed to recreate!

I do not own any of the exact pieces, so I made it my own! Here is my take on this outfit... (I should disclaimer my Dad took these pictures and they were taken after a day at school!)
Hope you are having a wonderful week! My week as started out with me being sick. YUCK! I think my immune system has given up! I'm not sure how much more of these little "sick spells" I can handle! I'm off to go take some more meds and get some sleep!

Product Whore... Say it ain't so!

My name is Jaime and I am a product whore... There I said it! Haha! Really though it's sort of a problem! You Ladies are super lucky though because you get to reap the benefits! Here are a few things that I have used lately that I am OBSESSED with!!!

First I am a sucker for some sexy, flirty lashes, who isn't! While I am not completely unfortunate in the lash department I def can always use some help! I have found the one my heart loves!!! It is Benefit (and yes a bit pricey but TOTALLY worth every penny!!) They're Real mascara.
I have been asked a few times if I was wearing falsies! Yes, it is that good!

Second, I am a poster child for combination skin but for some reason my eyelids are SUPER oily! I had always said no to eye primer, I honestly have no idea why the aversion, I finally tried Benefit's Stay Don't Stray

It was LIFE CHANGING. I wear it everyday and no crease, EVER. Even in 114 degree Oklahoma weather!

I used to keep solar nails but have of recent been going the natural route. I love super fun and bright colors. I am a total OPI girl but I discovered a new brand that GASP... might I say I love more!!! Essie Nail Polish is where it's at! It stays on SO well! Not a chip in sight for DAYS!!!
Let me introduce you to "Oui Madame," she's my current color! She's a beaut ain't she!
I'm not sure if y'all have seen the previews for the new show GCB, Good Christian Belles, or not but it looks like a hoot and a half! One of my fave Okies, Kristin Chenoweth, is even a cast member! CAN'T WAIT!!!
Have a wonderful day, Lovelies!!!

EARTHQUAKE!!!

So, yesterday I lived through 2, yes you read that right, 2 earthquakes! The first hit around 2:15am and of course I was still awake. I thought it was a loud truck driving by and boy was I wrong! When the bed started shaking I had two thoughts... paranormal activity, or earthquake! HAHA! Since when does Oklahoma have earthquakes! Then last night around 11pm we had the biggest earthquake in Oklahoma history a 5.6, which according to the Richter scale wikipedia page, was a moderate earthquake. My mom and I had just finished watching the OSU game (I know, I know... rough game) and we thought we were hearing a loud gust of wind (and yes we have that strong of wind gusts!)... then the walls and pictures started shaking. It was SO scary! I can't imagine living through a ground splitting lots of damage earthquake. Truth be told I didn't even know what to do. Since preschool I have had tornado precautions preached at me. Never have I had earthquake precautions taught to me. I plan on doing a little research and covering it in class. I think that Mother Nature needs to choose... Oklahoma has tornadoes or earthquakes, only one though! Here is a funny video that one of my pledge sisters posted on FB! Watch his eyes! Haha!

How about that game last night? I mean seriously I thought my heart might give out. Glad we won but that was painful! And to top it off Bama lost. REALLY!!! Stupid Les Miles. Have a blessed week Lovelies!!!

Sad Day...

Today was a sad day. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I can remember. Some of my favorite toys were a chalkboard and grade book growing up. With all the preparation I was given I was never prepared for what I had to do today. I buried my first student. Nic died in a tragic accident on Sunday evening. I can't not even imagine the pain his family and friends are experiencing right now. Please keep them and Bixby high school in your prayers. He was one of my favorites. Nic was such a sweetheart! He was one of the most adorable students at BHS and a total charmer to boot. I will greatly miss his sweet smile and cheerful personality! I am so proud of the young man that Nic was. He will be greatly missed!!!

I saw this quote today on a blog and it was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you Lord for always placing things in our paths!

This is Nic... I know he is just the most precious kiddo!

Nic I truly believe that today was not a goodbye but a see you later!!!

New Product!

Ok, Ladies!!! I wanted to share some lovely products I have found lately (through Pinterest and my FAB beautician)!!! First, Pinterest...
This is Aquage uplifting foam. I just bought this tonight (had a hard time finding a place in Tulsa that carries it), so I have NO idea how it will actually work. I'll let you know tomorrow!

The Second being Dust It! OK, my AMAZING hair lady, Miss Dawn G, she showed me this at my appt last week! I can not express to you how AWESOME this stuff is. It gives me body and a poof with no teasing! It's a little pricey but TOTALLY worth it!

I'm pretty darn giddy about these additions to my hair product arsenal!

Birch Box

So, obviously I have totally slacked on the 30 day challenge. I do have a VERY valid excuse though. With the weather being in between seasons it's hard to couple the seasons in 1 challenge. So, this week I am going to start over and do a Fall 30 days. This will not start until Wednesday because I am a little under the weather with a two day 100 degree fever thus that will be the next day I actually get up and dress. Due to the said fever and absence from school I have been in the lounging position all day. I did find a few nuggets! My fave I found on the cute little blog www.thesmallthingsblog.com... It's called a Birch Box, you can check it out here (www.birchbox.com). It is a box that arrives mid month full of beauty samples for only $10 a month! If you know me you know I LOVE to play with new products, and this feeds my addiction and doesn't break my wallet! I'll post pics when the first box arrives!!! I am SSSOOO excited!!!

So, today is the first post in my 30 day summer clothing challenge. I was running SUPER late this morning (I know weird and totally out of character right?). Anywhoo... I am telling you this because I had to take the picture of myself. I know it's very Freshman girl and I should probably being sticking my tongue out or maybe holding up a peace sign but I digress...

30 day challenge

So, I was reading a blog recently where she gave herself a 30 day challenge. The challenge is to wear 30 different outfits in 30 days! So, I have decided to do this! I'm actually pretty excited!!! I plan on doing one each season! Summer 1st since Oklahoma is hot until October! I think this will help me change up my wardrobe and use ALL my clothes! I SO easily get in to a clothes rut... feeling like I look like an EEEKKK...Teacher! No, I don't wear seasonal sweaters or denim jumpers but I just feel frumpy! Also, she does a post every Friday which she calls grateful for Friday (BEST NAME EVER... I mean who isn't grateful for Friday!) Where she goes through the week and tells one thing for each day that she is grateful for! LOVE IT!!! Outfit number 1 is up tomorrow... GET EXCITED!!!

New Beauty Products

So, since I am sitting at my laptop on my 7th (8th is tomorrow and 10th for the year) snow day I decided I am going to share a few new beauty products that I have been using and loving lately. If you know me well then you know I LOVE new beauty finds. It was so bad that in college my sorority sisters would not let me go to the beauty aisle at Walmart. Haha! OK, so the first is a new teasing brush that I saw someone use on a beauty blog. It's a simple Conair brush that I purchased at Walgreens for around $3.oo.
I posted this on Twitter and said that I have had senator's wife hair since I purchased it. Let's just say that I am serious! There was a point that I felt like maybe I should comb a little of the tease out because my hair was SO big. That means A LOT coming from me! I LOVE BIG HAIR!!!

The second product that I am loving recently is Banana Boat's Summer Color, which is a self tanner.
I bought this at Ulta and it was around $7.00 or $8.00, which is what I normally pay for drug store self tanners. This tanner is different though. It is AMAZING!!! One of the office ladies recommend it and now I have to pass this little jewel along! Hope you choose to try these goodies and love them!

Snow Day #4 and counting.

I am writing this post at 11:28 on a school night because we have yet another snow day tomorrow. Tomorrow will make snow day number 4. That's right ladies and gents we have ZERO built in days and have already taken 4. As you can probably tell I am SUPER excited about attending school well into July! Really though, I have NEVER went to school on my birthday (June 8th) and I think we actually may get there, which is a total bummer(we are at May 30th as of tomorrow). I promise that this post will not be all neggie nancy. This past weekend Bixby's NHS held their annual Winter Ball. It is quite the soiree. I LOVE fancy smancy dances because the kids get all dressed up and let's be honest it's the only time when I get to see some of them in anything other than sweats and hoodies. It was held at the Oklahoma Aquarium. It's a weird thing attending high school dances as an adult. If you know me you know that I like to get my booty shake on and it's hard to fight the temptation of cutting a rug! I was on ticket duty, which is my fave job, because I get to see all the kids and in their fancy pants! Have I ever expressed how beautiful I think my students are? I mean that may sound a little odd coming from one of their teachers but seriously, Bixby has some stunning kiddos! Not only are the pretty they are extremely smart and have huge personality! Why, yes, I do LOVE my job and the kids I get to work with! HAHA!!
I haven't ventured out and taken any "snoklahoma" pictures yet, hopefully tomorrow! I have added some pictures of the Winter Ball for your viewing pleasure though! Have a great break from life this week! Stay warm and safe!!!

Beautiful!!They were at their picture taking level! Ha! I told them to get used to it if they wanted women around!
Like I said STUNNING!!!
I only talked two into wearing bow ties! Not quite where I want it but it's a good start if you ask me!!
They wanted to do "that one sorority pose!" HAHA!!! Love them!!!

XOXOXO
