Swimming, Sno cones, and Stepping out in Faith

So, I went to the Doc (a new one that I LOVE) on Monday and she gave me another round of antibiotics and a B12 shot! I feel SO much better! I am actually starting to feel like myself again! Praise the Lord! I have a small summer job. I watch some kiddos on Wednesdays and Fridays! Aren't they just the CUTEST things ever! We did our summer reading projects this morning and went swimming and had Josh's sno cones this afternoon!

Last night I went to Target (which is one of my top 5 FAVE places!) and discovered that Goodys hair brand came out with new hair accessories. I got some HUGE flower headbands and a cute bow one! I often wonder as I am buying these hair accessories about how much longer I can get away with wearing them! HUH! Well, I don't plan on stopping anytime soon!

So, in a post from last week I talked about the book Plan B! OMG, it is A-Mazing! I am serious when I say if your life is not where you thought it would be or you know someone in that situation you should read this book. It is like God himself told Pete Wilson (the author) exactly what I needed to hear and had him write a book just for me! He touches on some bread and butter bible stories and puts them in a new light. This book truly has inspired me to be Faithful and to see that I have to take the step of faith to see the Lord's mighty and awesome power! I want to live a life of expectancy! I am so excited to see what the Lord shows me next through this book.

I am also reading the book Marry Him: The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough.

At first I was a little weary of this book because of the title. Two of my sorority sisters, Torri and Allison, had and were getting ready to read it so I bought it on my nook. It has turned out to be quite different than I thought. The author has had some really great thoughts!

Fireworks, new dresses, and one great Daddy!!!

As y'all know we are super close to celebrating our glorious nation's 234th birthday! Are y'all surprised that Independence is my FAVE holiday!?! Yeah, I assumed you wouldn't be! Ha! I saw my first firework stand of the year being set up and it made me a little (or a lot) giddy! I also bought my Independence Day dress last night at Target! (I will use ANY excuse to buy a new dress) It's super cutie!!!

Before we celebrate the 4th of July, we celebrate Father's Day! Happy Father's Day, Daddy! I have the BEST Dad in the WORLD! You can see where I get my good looks! Ha!

Bestie Play dates and Sh*t My Dad Says!

First of all, HAPPY 3rd ANNIVERSARY Candace and Kendall! I can't believe it's been 3 years! I know there will be many more!!!

So, yesterday I got to have a long awaited play date with my Beautiful Bestie and her handsome son! Aren't they so gorgeous! The Johnsons made a beautiful baby!!! I was thinking about the last time it was just C and I and well, it's been awhile. With Conley's arrival and my trip and subsequent sickness we haven't had a play date in what seems like YEARS! It was REALLY great for just the 3 of us to hangout! The summer always reminds me of Candace because we met at church camp during the summer! She is one of the greatest blessings the Lord has ever sent my way! She is such an amazing example of what a friend, wife, and now mother should be! Thanks for being the Best Bestie Ever!!!!

On a less sappy note! Y'all have to read the book "Sh*t my Dad Says." It is super crude but oh so funny! I literally can't control my laughter sometimes! Justin, the author, was on Chelsea Lately the other night and he announced that they were going to make a sitcom from the book. Starring none other than Will Shatner. I AM PUMPED!

Kisses,
Jaime

A bad case of Mexicoistis

So, I have officially been sick for 17 years! OK, not really but it feels close. I decided to make myself feel better by posting about my Cancun trip! I was a little scared about going because it was my sister's senior trip, which means I would be attending a Cancun vacation with students (all of whom just graduated) and their parents! I had nothing to worry about! It ended up being super fun!!! We attended a market one morning and it was HOT! OMG, like August in Oklahoma HOT! The people were (how do I say this nicely?) VERY friendly!!! We bought a few Cancun musts. . .

This sweet woman was selling "handmade" bracelets. I think the girls I was with spend most of their money on the bracelets. It was SUPER hard saying no to them. Look at that baby's face! SO CUTE!!!!

This is what the outside part of the market looked like!
This older man was sitting outside the market. I thought it was a cool picture. (I should add that I asked before I took it!)
Kassidy, Lauren, and Traci. My little sister (Traci) and her two best friends!and then headed back to the resort in the Taxi cab from HELL. For those who have had the misfortune to ride in a car with me as a passenger I am what would be considered an extremely nervous rider. This guy got a few choice words from me and I'm pretty sure I bruised one of the boys legs with my grip.

It really was a blast! There was 34 of us so you can imagine that we were "known" around the resort. I heard "Oh, you're one of those Bixby kids," like a million times. And yes they thought I had just graduated.

Here is the view from our hotel room!

Here is what the windows in the hallways looked like. That is right! There is no glass just a hole cut out of the wall.
Here is the beautiful pool! We spent most of our time here, because of the aforementioned heat!
Here is the lobby of our hotel. To the left you can see that, like the "windows" in the hallway, there was no front door to the hotel just a large opening.
Here we are celebrating Traci's 19th birthday! We went to a traditional Mexican restaurant. It was interesting!
The beautiful beach on our last night there.
OK, now I have made myself sad and I want to go back! It really was beautiful!

I want to suck your blood!!!!!

I don't know about you crazy cats but I was SUPER excited about this...
Season three of True Blood premiered tonight and it was just as magical as I expected!!! I don't know if it's the Vampire thing, the deep south thing, or both but I LOVE TRUE BLOOD!!!! On a different random note. I started reading the book Plan B by Pete Wilson. It is already inspiring and I am in like the 4th chapter! If your life isn't playing out the way you thought it would, READ THIS!!!!!

Trying this "BLOG" thing!

So, I am (maybe I shouldn't actually admit this) obsessed with reading blogs! I just think they are so fascinating and they are SUCH a great way of keeping up with friends and family! Thus, I have decided I should try this "BLOG" thing out! I make NO promises that this will be entertaining! I guess ... HERE IT GOES!!!!
