Ridin Dirty

School started this week. I had to report on Monday and the kiddos joined us teachers on Thursday! This time of year is always a little bittersweet for me. I LOVE summer and all the free time I have but I also LOVE being with my students. I am SO blessed! I LOVE my job!

Today STUCO held Mudfest, a little back to school soiree!
Here is what I saw as I walked up!

I wore old clothes in case the desire to play in the mud was too great to resist. I DO NOT like getting dirty, so I assumed that the temptation would NOT be there! I should have known that it didn't matter if I WANTED to join in on the mudding or not! I was "hugged" more than I ever have been! I was given a mud hat (that ended with my hair looking like I had dreads). I was pushed and pulled into the mud and various puddles! It was fun though! I ended up playing Mom and hosing everyone off!

This is before i was attacked for the 17,oo0 time! My hair may never be the same again!

I had a TON of fun with kiddos and look forward to an awesome year ahead!!!

On a completely different note I report to school tomorrow. BOO! Please pray I have a better attitude about going back. It's not the whole school experience I am dreading just a few dreadful individuals I am forced to be around. I can't wait until Thursday, that's when the kids come!!!!

Day 4

Day 4:

My all time favorite book has to be "To Kill a Mockingbird."
I read it the first time my sophomore year of high school and it was LOVE! I will probably have a child names Scout! Ha!


Recently I have gotten into the Nora Roberts "Bridal Quartet." They come out about every 6 months. I am currently waiting for the last to be released. They are SUPER good and SUPER addicting! The series follows four best friends that own a bridal venue called "Vows" and all the services that go along with a wedding. The first book is "Vision in White," and is about the photographer Mac.
The second is called "Bed of Roses," and is about the florist Emma.
The third book, which just came out in May is "Savor the Moment," and is about the cake baker Laurel.
The final book, which is scheduled to be released in November is "Happily Ever After," and is about the wedding and business manager Parker. I CAN NOT wait to read this book! I have already pre-ordered it on my Nook! (Yes, I am a nerd and have a Nook!!!)

In other news I was unfortunately not able to attend Alumna skit night tonight. I have strep once again and didn't want to infect anyone (especially my pregnant sorority sisters) with my yuckiness! This whole being sick during the summer business blows big time! I take antibiotics and then within a week and a half I am sick again! Something is going to have to give.

Unlike yesterday I had absolutely NO problem narrowing down my decision! Without a doubt my favorite movie is . . . Steel Magnolias!!!!


I have LOVED this movie for FOREVER!!!! When I became a Phi Mu at Oklahoma State I grew to love this movie even more since the movie is based on the life of a Phi Mu! Below I added a clip of my favorite scene!

Tiaras and KOL

The other night I was doing a bit of shopping at Target. I was looking at school supplies, which I must admit make me giddy (I suppose it's a teacher thing). As I was walking down the aisle a little girl ran up to her Mom and grabbed her leg excitedly telling her that there was a Princess here. Then she pointed at me and said there she is! If you know me at all you know that this made my YEAR! (And NO I did not have a tiara on)!!! Ever since I posted that this happened on my facebook people keep calling me Princess. I walked into church on Sunday morning and our campus pastor said Hi Princess! I LOVE IT!!! Ha! I think some people are doing to sort of poke fun but I LOVE IT!!!

Tuesday was schedule pick up for juniors and seniors. Being senior sponsor I go to meet new kids, parents, and sell t-shirts. I LOVE schedule pick up! I get to see kids that I haven't seen since school let out in May. One of my junior lovelies has competed in a few pageants this summer; winning two. She so graciously brought her tiaras up to school so I could see/play with them!

Yes, I did walk around for about 20 minutes with a tiara on. And yes, I assume some parents are worried about what kind of teachers Bixby is hiring! HA!We have one week, as of tomorrow, until school starts! It's so bittersweet! I can't wait to get into the thick of it with my students but I LOVE the freedom of summer!

I am OBSESSED with music, so I can't just have ONE fave song. I do however have a FAVE band, which is Kings of Leon, and my fave KOL song is Fans. So by default I would have to say the Fans by KOL is my FAVE! The song is below! I had the privilege of seeing them last October! They are A-Mazing!!!! Enjoy!
